Dear Sir / Madam,

We are a group of three elderly families (average age 62 and pensioners) =

that would like to start a co-housing project in the Netherlands.

We would like to hear from others who have planned to spend their =

retirement years in a self developed co-housing project and would be =

willing to share their experience with us.

We are particularly interested in:

=80 legal structure of the structure

=80 thoughts about vision and goals of the group (esp. related to balance =

communal vs. individual units / facilities)
in the discussions that we have had so far there seems to be a spilt on
th=
e =

need for privacy and sharing of certain facilities. Most of us have of cour=
se =

been living in the comfort of private homes for 30 odd years. The thought =

of sharing facilities is a new one and we are interested in the opinion of =

like minded people and their experience.

=80 integration with other generations or strictly over 55

=80 any thoughts on ideal number of project members =

=80 facilities required and requested (esp. in view of old age)

=80 special features of design because of age and possible (future) =

disabilities inhabitants

=80 any experience with designing new project or acquiring existing =

structure / building and renovating / adapting to needs

We can be reached at ca79 [at] solo.pipex.co.za. and from half May 1997 on =

gambit [at] worldaccess.nl

On behalf of the group (no name yet)
