Hello all, I hope someone can give me some insight into my "problem". Perhaps some of you have already responded to my call for a cohousing situation which would suit my needs and I thank you. I've always been one to follow my heart and have moved great distances in the past to do just that. However, now I find myself 46, a single-mom-by-choice (and loving it!) of a toddler and pretty firmly ensconced in my community. That is, I have a good support network and people who I can call friends. The Big But, is that I REALLY want to live in a cohousing community, especially after reading the glowing reports of cohousing life on this list. My question: Is there anyone out there who has actually packed up and moved away from friends, et al, to start over in a coho community? I know a lot depends on individual personality, etc. but if there is someone out there who has had the experience I'd really like to hear how it has gone for you. Thanks to all.
