Sharngwood has 14 homes and 4 dogs. The dogs are not allowed to run loose on
the property.

Subject: How many Dogs?
?Tis a slow summer season on old coho-l, but in case there¹s anyone out
there still at home in front of their computer, I ?d appreciate some
help gathering a bit of information. Specifically what I need to know
is:
? How many homes are in your community?
? How many dogs are in your community?
The reason I ask is because we¹re currently working on getting approval
for our cohousing project in rural Colorado. There¹s a big concern in
these parts (rightfully so) with dogs chasing livestock and wildlife.
The land we¹re under contract to buy is adjacent to critical wintering
range for the local elk herds. What I¹ve told the neighbors and DOW
folks is that people in cohousing have far fewer dogs than regular
homeowners because there¹s not the safety concern, there¹s just not alot
of room in a tight cluster of homes for a bunch of dogs, and in
cohousing you can kind of share your neighbors dog. I¹m sure that this
argument would go alot farther if I could provide hard data from
cohousing communities. So please answer these 2 questions for me.
And of course I¹ll post a tabulation of responses to the list.
Thank you,
