What works best in PR for cohousing as in anything else, is usually a
combination of things.  The things we did that all worked together included:

Working the press to get lots of good stories and attention
Having public meetings after the stories to tell people all about cohousing
with slide show.
Making a flier and sending to targetted lists, posting around town, childcare
centers, etc.
Word of mouth!!  powerful!  (example:  one of our families contacted JOani
Blank (in Emeryville,  CA) from Philadelphia.  They came out to visit and now
are full members of our community.)  Of course, locally, talk it up to
everyone you know.  Get the book and pass it around.
The Website and Coho Journal always helpand of course, this list - example:

We now have an opening at Two Acre Wood in Sebastopol, CA if anyone's
interested.  It is a four bedroom and will be completed probably next spring
or summer.  We are also building a waiting list.  Email me at
