The flip side of this is that early-joiners have more time to acquire
resentments & grudges from tough decisions which didn't go their way, and
to generally burn out. Our late-joiners seem to be just as socially
integrated (if not more so), and less prone to "family feuds". My household
joined about one year before completion, which seemed pretty optimal for us.
