Hi Folks,
We are currently working on the landscape design for our community which is
now under construction.  Here is a question for all of you built and
landscaped communities:

Does your common central area or "front yard area" have a common design that
is designed and maintained by some part of the community?  Or do people pretty
much do what they want with the front/common yard of their home.

We have some that want a common, unified design that is well-maintained by a
committee or something with a planned out and beautiful look that goes with
the architecture, etc.
Others want to express their individuality by planting whatever they like in
front of their house.

We'd love to hear what has worked and what hasn't out there.
