I support the relavent nature of the Y2K posting, because "its happening" to all of us, whether we are fortunate to live in a CoHo setting or not. The human race is being asked everyday to rebuild community, and the Y2K problem could put a little heat under the fire. Also, from where I sit, quite a few people who live in CoHousing are technologically savvy - and it isn't long before we see neighborhoods linked together by networks etc. Lastly, our basic instinct is survival, and when we sit and define our futures, it is this instinct that fuels the vision. CoHo makes sense - a modern tribe, trying to blend interdependence with decades of dysfunctional isolationism. I will be bold and say that if your going to get it together as a serious CoHousing group, you got to plan for the future - build interconnections -- why? 'cause it will make the group more prepared to handle the events of tomarrow (what ever that may be! let it be peace, LET IT BE...!!!!!!) Besides, having a floorstock of food and water (and wine) can be really handy when you throw a party! Cheers Annmarie
