Often a community very much like cohousing develops in city co-ops. It could
be helped along significantly by intention but over the years everyone knows
everyone and is on call when needed. The first floors could easily be
converted to common spaces and kitchens--as well as the roof. For urban
cohousing, the city might be the best place to start to find a suitable
building to convert, particularly with sweat equity.
