The Federation of Damanhur capriolo [at] cyberdh.com is the author of the message below but due to a problem it was posted by the Fred the list manager: owner-cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Fred's note. This conference is quite tangentially related to cohousing but from my perusal seems related to the broader Intentional Community movement. In the spirit of convergence I decided to post it. -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- Dear Friends, we are seen your web and we found it interesting. The Economy subject is one of the most"up to date" matter we are working on both at national and international level. Then are experts from all over the world who are working with us to this aim. With love and light con voi lepre viola Damanhur (Italy) 15-21 May 1999 STRUCTURE AND ECONOMICS WITH A VISION HOW TO CREATE NEW SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SYSTEM FOR OUR VILLAGES In the past decades, communities and eco-villages have experimented with many aspects of life, be it social, economic, spiritual or ecological. They have grown independently from each other so each community developed its own uniqueness. With this in mind, we are holding this conference in a spirit of convergence, rather than a traditional conference, so that everyone may share and build upon the experiences of others. This convergence wants to be very practical, not 'just talk'. Its main goals are: to present a variety of experiences in social and economic organising based upon spiritual and ethical values; to share the best of all experiences and synthesise them into models and formulas that can be concretely implemented; to explore trading exchange potential to create a working system of exchanges among communities and New Societies; to investigate the possibility of creating and using a common complementary currency to investigate micro-credit mechanisms and the possibility of creating a common Bank. and last, but not least: to start specific co-operative projects among communities. Who is invited? representatives of communities and eco-villages; scholars, researchers and experts in economics, sociality and community; journalists and media people; students; individual with the enthusiasm to create something new and concrete for the planet.
