Cohousing-L Mailing List: Progress in San Mateo urban retrofit

We are about to go into negotiation for the second 4 unit building in
our urban retrofit community.  We are looking for renters and buyers.

Currently there is a room with a private bath available June 1 in one of
the shared apartments involved in growing a cooperative living
community. We are located on the lagoon between Foster City and San
Mateo 20 miles south of San Franciso. 

We have made lots of progress in establishing gardens.  We planted many
fruit trees this spring.

I've begun updating my webpage with new pictures, digital cameras are
cool...some technical problems but I expect it to be done by the end of
the week.

I have been meeting with a group organizing the whole Los Prados
neighborhood into a greater sense of community.  They will be meeting in
our "common house" tonight.  A city councilman will be our guest.  I
have heard that our city is open to a variety of types of development. 
I have been nervous about letting the city know what we are doing but it
is probably time to "come out."
