How nice to have space and woods. At Cambridge Cohousing we are on 1.3 acres in a totally urban environment We have a parent-donated toddler structure (from Playskool or some company like that) and a sand box at one end of the site, and we are about to put up a play structure with swings, slide, etc. in front of the common house. Our kids use the toddler structure all the time, and I expect the older kids will use the other structure all the time too. But being urban, they have no fallen trees, dirt piles, or club houses in the woods as an alternative. It seems as if your environment would dictate how much you invest in a play structure. Those woods sound great.
