use of "therapy" vs. "assistance"

Arguably, the word therapy is a pretentious word for assistance, at best
used when I want to show it's referenced.

So, in aged care, we don't reminisce, we do "reminiscing therapy", we don't
validate someone's feelings, we do "validation therapy".
