If you're able, start educating the movers and shakers now. In Silicon Valley we repeatedly run into coho blocks by politicians a city staff. If you can swing it, put together an education session/lunch for the bankers, architects, politicians, developers, and city/co. staff where Katie and Chuck can talk them up. When I was in a previous Santa Barbara coho group we did this (with a grant from a local bank) and it was a great success. If you can't swing the extra work/costs, then invite them with a phone call to attend your public session. They won't get the targeted spin, but they will see that the voters are interested in it. I think this needs to be done in communities all over the nation. When you hire Katie/Chuck or others to make presentations, make better use of the travel expenses and target the powers that be. Is there any forum for addressing this at the upcoming conference...mass public education. Just think, what if we had a national public relations director for cohousing. Ah dreams, Stephanie
