Public Housing authorities undoubtedly vary enormously, just like the communities they are in. We have had very little in the way of problems from the Cambridge Housing Authority which owns two of our units. They were very cooperative initially in identifying families who were interested in the concept of cohousing and letting us give them tours and talk about what we hoped to get from the cohousing life before choosing who would be tenants here. Since then we have had a couple of calls about some heating rpoblems, etc. that we have all shared! Otherwise, CHA doesn't get involved and there is no reason why they should. If you have a substantial number of authority units I imagine they will be more likely to get involved.
