1.Yes there is steam, its not a problem, we have a fan in the scullery.
2. No there is no supplimentary water heater. It heats it up to way hot.
3. No we only use dishwasher soap, no other chemicals, odor is not
noticable. We buy our dishwasher soap at the coop- some groovey eco stuff.
4. The noise is not a problem, the machine only runs 90 seconds a load.

We have an under the counter model. It sucks. Heavy trays of dishes,
dripping wet from being rised, have to be lifted twice, once while going in
the machine, once when coming out. Drips water all over the floor, you have
to step back at a bad angle to keep it from dripping on you. Terrible for
the back, not at all kid or elderly friendly.

On counter machines are way better, rise off then just slide it into the
machine. Sure its ugly to look at, but who cares.....Not me anyway, I'd
rather be dry with a good back thank you...
