Hello all, Cohousers and other communitartians in Georgia or elsewhere are invited to join us for a workshop/gathering with Rob Sandelin to be held in Atlanta on Saturday, May 13th. Details are still developing and we welcome early contact so your interests can help shape the agenda. So far, East Lake Commons and Lake Claire are both involved. We will most likely be meeting at Lake Claire, and can also offer tours of East Lake Commons if you are from out of town. We can probably come up with a few guest room spaces in homes at ELC or the off-site homes of our members whose houses are still under construction. While we're happy to have Rob all to ourselves, we'd be even more excited to meet and get to know others in the region who share common interests and experience in community. Please let me know if you're interested in attending, if you are part of an existing or in-development group, and if you'd like to help in planning or sponsoring the event. Look forward to hearing from you. (North Carolinians: I hear Rob is doing something similar up your way the following weekend; but if for some reason that weekend is bad for you, consider a trip to Atlanta the weekend before.) Ginny Moreland East Lake Commons Atlanta (technically, Decatur), GA work: (404) 471-5277; vmoreland [at] agnesscott.edu home: (404) 377-5444; vmoreland [at] mindspring.com Status: about 30 homes closed and occupied; about 60 out of the total 67 sold or under contract. Common House and unit construction moving very well, Gaia Gardens gearing up for third season of subscriptions. Some growing pains as our process and decision-making models stretch to include growing numbers of members, half living on site and half still getting their homes built. And where we welcome a new baby born last week, increasing our age distribution -- now from seven days to seventy years.
