My kids are raising money for Kids for the environment, a program that takes
intercity kids out into nature on overnight nature  trips, classroom
acitivites and nature study weekends. They are doing this via a birdathon,
which works like this. On our around the US trip, we are going to do some
serious bird watching. My kids are just learning. So people are pledging
some amount per species of bird they identify (verified by dad and mom). So
since we are hitting some of the hottest birding spots in the US they could
easily come away, after three months, with over 100 bird species  on their
list and 200 for them is probably possible.

You can donate by sending me an email with your  name and amount per bird
and I will add you to their list. If we are visiting your community on our
trip, be sure to point out any feeders or other good places to check for
birds while we are there.
