Hello Everyone,

Although I only have experience with cooperatives, I'm a fan of
cohousing and I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about a
new how to manual.  In the sprng or summer of 2001, "Developing and
Sustaining Rural Senior Cooperative Housing" should be ready for general
use. Its going to be published by the USDA. If anyone is interested in
receiving a copy, please email me and I will add you to the list. The
cooperative model we are using is very similar to cohousing and it might
be helpful to many of you.

The manual is accompanied by a study about how cooperatives impact
quality of life for seniors. I think it can be extrapolated to make an
excellent argument for communal living in general.
