White board in the entry hall - ongoing "immediate" messages, including
instructions to check on one of the other notice boards, what's ready to pick
in the garden, lost items, minor rants, reminders to vote, congratulations
messages, who's in hospital, etc. This is an essential aide to keeping
current!!
Decision board - corkboard in entry
"Urgent" one day board in entry, which tends to collect less than urgent
stuff that someone doesn't want overlooked.

In mailroom - corkboard about 4 ft x 10' for more permanent notices from
committees and various interest groups. There is a shelf underneath for
sorting mail, etc. One of our members also maintains a set of catalogs in
milk cartons under the shelf. Among us we must get every catalog in the
Universe, although some of us are trying to get off lists.
So you also need a large trash barrel for paper recycling!
Small corkboard for Live Lightly Please - environmental news, recycling info,
etc.
Calendar for community events.

Wooden boxes about 6 inches high and 12" wide and deep - one for each unit
and one each for Managing Board, Community Committee and other "standing"
Committees. These are very useful for distributing notices, leaving each
other notes, books, keys, etc.etc.
Mini boxes for the children.

In the pantry outside the kitchen (which is opposite the mail room) - 4" x 8"
corkboard to hold about eight sign up sheets as well as other useful
information for cooks, etc.

We also have a very active in-house email list.

It's hard for people to be totally uninformed but from time to time someone
manages it!!
