Because it requires a large commitment of time and energy and most
people are not willing to put that in, discount home or no.
Real estate development excludes people that have no assets, are not
mortgagable, and have little drive to succeed.
Rob,
I take issue with your wording although I understand what you're
trying to say: "willing" should be replaced by"able" to put in a
time commitment. Folks of limited means often don't choose to be
affordable. They have multiple jobs, are often single working
parents, have other circumstances, etc. They often can't afford
babysitters. Please let's not label affordable folks as lacking in
motivation or being unwilling --- they might just have more pressing
priorities.
