Every group is going to be different. Most groups have de facto
"steer-ers" whatever they are called. We're a lot-development model, but
had years of site planning etc when there were only 5-8 families, and
about 6 individuals (myself included) did everything. We hardly needed a
sub-committee or a governing body. Some people self- appoint to watch for
those things that are falling through the cracks, and do a good job of
it. Ditto for prioritization. I'd say, decide if you have a problem,
define it, and explore diverse ways of dealing with it, of which a
coordinating committee of some sort might be one. If unsure, try it for a
set time period and reevaluate.

A footnote to RoseWind's SC: we started with the idea of a rep from each
important standing committee, but ended up with "at large" members. If
information is needed from a non-represented committee, or needs to be
sent to one, it's a simple matter to contact someone on the committee, or
use email.

RoseWind, where some of the flamingos are wearing leis.... I stopped in
to the CH to get my mail last night, and found a wine-tasting party in
dressed-up attire by candlelight, savoring the vibrations from 2 big
speakers just hooked up.

We are brimming with ideas of how we want to use it and it has
immediately been put into use.
