I can't help adding a piece for the sake of discussion. In forming Takoma Village I can' t think of another issue that has caused as much contention as the pet policy. In three years, it is still not resolved. Outdoor cats is the major issue, but pets on the commonhouse was a biggie. It is hard for cat owners to see that their cats are at risk outdoors and that they cause irritation if not harm to birds, etc. (not to mention using the kids playground surfacing as kitty litter) and for dog owners to see that dogs "just walking through" the commonhouse contaminate the environment for others. Very hot issue. Confront it up front.
