Is this supposed to be a revelation? If one has been paying attention to actual US Foreign Policy (as opposed to the covering rhetoric), there is no surprise here. Of course, most of us (myself included) ignore or remain uninformed about what the US has done to the world in the Post-Cold War period because we are lost in the dream of our own comfort. Rather, what is notable are the few instances when the US does act to promote the principles on which it was founded over its economic and imperial interests. I am not being cynical, but if you knew as many foreign policy folks as I do, you would realize that this philosophy permeates their training and indoctrination. Thank you for sharing this letter, I hope it provokes sustained interest in the unvarnished truth of American Foreign policy. Which (BTW) I think is also being helped along by the information revolution. I mean, now more and more of us are able to access the foreign press coverage of US actions on the global stage. _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
