To Robin,

You first exposure to the varied world of community and violia! You get a
wide variety of responses. This is, for better or worse, totally typical of
life in community. Ask a simple question, get 32 complex answers back, which
you then have to sort through. This causes people to either: 1. Stop asking
questions, or 2. get better at asking more focused questions.

Also another learning from community, don't take it personally when a
behavior is critiqued, even if the behavior is attached to you. Often in
community life an event becomes a focus to work on, and the person causing
that event is simply in the right place at the right time to get all the
feedback for all the behaviors that have gone undealt with until now. So a
good skill to learn is how to decouple when people are talking about YOU in
person, and when people are talking about a BEHAVIOR that happens. Of
course, another great skill is to separate the behavior out in the first
place.
