Dear Maggi,

I think the first two meetings that we used the color cards were a bit
difficult. It was frustrating that we could just say what we needed to say
without figuring out what color we should use!

After two meetings or so we had a workshop where we didn't use the cards and
most of us were wishing we had them! We never have a meeting without them
anymore and I can't imagine not having them.

A few suggestions:

    1. Criteria: it's time to start using color cards if your meetings are
starting to get unruly, or if you find yourself going over the alotted time.
    2. Make a poster of what each color means that would hang on the wall
for each meeting.
    3. Write the words of each color on the card so if the poster can't be
seen you can still find your card.
    4. Consider having separate signals for "voting" versus discussion. In
our group the color cards are only to facilitate discussion but thumbs up,
sideways or down for voting.

I am really enjoying this conversation on group process! Thanks to
everyone who has contributed.

Those of you who use the colored process cards in your group: could you
speak a bit about your impression of these? I am assuming they are not
really needed before a group reaches a certain size. I like the cards in
theory, but would like to hear about the practice. Thanks in advance!
