Our group uses the cards, and I have to say that, as a frequent
facilitator, I -love- them. I've facilitated other groups without them,
and that's been fine, but I think it could be hard to go back :)

When I'm facilitating, I typically don't worry about the different color
cards unless the conversation is getting really convoluted -- I can see
that someone is fiddling with hir cards, and I'll let hir know that I've
seen it and added hir to the queue :) I'm only picky about getting people
to show colors when we're getting into a complex discussion or when LOTS
of people want to talk!

And why should night and day be so radically divided?
Is there anyone for whom loving and thinking
                 are lived as different beginnings?
Would I have to spend my days with the one and my nights with the other?
