Oak Creek Commons has national advertising in Communities Magazine and The
Cohousing Journal.  All other alternative press is local or regional - Hope
Dance Magazine on the central coast of Californa, regional edition of
Parents (or Parenting) magazine, Sierra Club newsletters, small daily or
weekly news magazines in target markets, since we are marketing to San
Francisco Bay Area, Central Coast, and Los Angeles residents.

Since you asked, i thought i'd put in a plug for Communities magazine.
It's the only national publication besides Cohousing that is specifically
oriented toward people interested in community living.  I consistently see
ads from cohousing communities there.  

If you've never seen Communities (or haven't taken a look in a long time),
i strongly recommend checking it out . . . i admit i'm biased since i serve
on the board of the organization that publishes it, but i really do think
it offers a lot of great advice that is just as relevant to cohousing
groups as to anyone else doing cooperative living in some form.  You can
get to the website from the main intentional communities website at
