Bettleheim's book was published at least 30 years ago and was widely
criticized at the time from various perspectives, many of them charging him
with gross overgeneralization. In any event, things have changed a lot on
kibbutzim. Here, found in the coho-l archivers, is a link to a little
political/economic/historical analysis I contributed to this list-serve
several years ago.
