Andrew -- there was just a series of emails to this listserv on "green" or
sustainable aspects of cohousing communities.  I mentioned the very recent
issue of "Environmental Business News"  which has quite a detailed chart
showing a number of coho communities and their "green"/sustainable features.
Is this publication available in GB?  You may be able to get an email
version of this issue from the publisher Building Green Inc.

If you are including green and/or sustainble features in your proposed
community there are ample studies showing the energy cost savings -- esp.
over time -- of using these technologies.  To say nothing of the decreased
impact on the environment...
