After seven months of searching, the Austin, Texas Rural Cohousing group
has closed on a gorgeous parcel of 31 acres just sixteen miles east of
Austin.

The property is located on a gentle ridge. The front of the property
sits on a promontory with a sweeping 180 degree view that overlooks the
Walbarger Creek area and reaches out for miles. The long and narrow plot
holds a terraced pond, existing buildings and a lovely mix of trees and
meadows. Building sites will overlook the terraced pond and share the
beautiful panoramic view.

An existing home on the property will act as a residence for Tom and
Dory while the Rural Group gathers more members, develops our design and
prepares to undertake construction in 18 to 24 months. We anticipate
between 18 and 22 households will be accommodated on the upper portion
of the land in a clustered style of development. This upper area will
also be the location of the gardens and small animal husbandry projects.
Most of the land will remain in its un-developed state.

Inquiries are welcomed. We have only a handful of members and are
undertaking a marketing effort at this time. Come check out some
pictures and learn more about Austin Rural at our web page
