Hi all... I have been lurking here for a while as I am part of a small group in the early stages of forming a work/live (eg: with some commercial space) cohousing site in Victoria BC. We also want to design some units specifically with wheelchair access and all of them with general accessibility issues in mind. One potential member/neighbour has MS, two have arthritis and one of those has also been unable to work due to a back injury. (We hope to work with a local wheelchair advocacy group to design those suites.) I have found this thread very enlightening -- these details are far down the road for us, but having read about the issue it will be important to keep in mind. We had been so focused on envisioning the living units that we had forgotten to envision how everyone could work together in the kitchen! Anyway, I'll just go back to lurking now. :) Cheryl DeWolfe (we don't have a name yet for our group) Victoria, BC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elizabeth Stevenson" <tamgoddess [at] attbi.com> To: <cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org> Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2002 8:52 AM Subject: Re: [C-L]_Dishwasher > Hallelujah.
