At Sharingwood we all are charged $60 a year for commonhouse cleaning. ($5 a month added to monthly assessment) If you sign up to work a monthly cleaning shift your $60 is returned, if you do not, then community members that sign up to clean in your place are paid your $60. So we do hire out, we hire from within. There are community members who are hired regularly for individual work done for other members, for example house painting, landscaping, house cleaning, massage, carpentry work. These are private transactions between members - sometimes money changes hands, sometimes its a trade. We tried out a community barter system but it never worked out, so people just negotiate among themselves for what they provide or need. Seems to work out just fine, with no community overhead needed. Rob --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
