[end quote] I think the word you are looking for is "ptomaine". My MS Word editor did show "ptomaine" as one of the options for "tomain" or "tomane". But I suspect most spell checkers would be baffled. I am a lurker on this list and very occasional poster. I recently moved from Salem, NH to Boxboro, MA (to a rental condo, not my preferred living arrangement) to be closer to my work.
