Does your community have a newsletter? I want to propose a newsletter to my community but wanted to hear first why or why not other communities have or don't have a newsletter. I think a newsletter could cut down the time of our community meetings by moving announcements, appreciations and other "fluff" out of the meeting and into the newsletter. It would put a calendar of events in every household. I don't even know how many different calendars and announcement boards we have in the CH. Would get news to everyone as some members aren't on our community listserv, while others find email too bothersome to read. Also, not everyone makes it to meetings or meals. Would preserve community history. Good for marketing. Would give prospective members a glimpse into community life. Also good to keep people on the waitlist in touch. The downside of course is the use and cost of paper. Also, do you think companies might sponsor issues for the cost of production in exchange for an ad if we have only 26 households??? If you're still with me, i'd love to hear feedback. I like doing newsletters and want to get a succinct proposal together before presenting the idea.
