I think introverts can be happy in cohousing.  There are enough
provisions for privacy for many.  Communities develop an ease about
not feeling compelled to be sociable when they are busy or not inclined  
(which happens a lot).  On the other hand some introverts and many
people generally would not find it to their liking - it is clearly not
for everyone.  And of course communities vary. 

I'd suggest a lot of visiting to a community to decided if it will work
for you.  Stay several days in the guest house. (I recommend this to
anyone considering a community.
 
I suspect that a community populated with too high a percentage of
introverts might have too little collective activity for some people.
