Put up a curtain?  

You are not bidden to wave to people passing by your window or keep your
door open or even talk to people when you don't want to.  That's the beauty
of cohousing -- flexible enough for everyone who is willing to be flexible
and creative. So...put up a curtain or a shade.  Make cohousing your home.
