If I could sidetrack here - something that I have to laugh about, about 
myself, is how I thought that having political and other stuff in common 
would make it easier to live with people in community.  So really it is the 
commitment to community itself that seems to be the glue that holds us 
together, because while we might mostly call ourselves lefties there is a 
whole wide range of opinion in there!  Apart from a range of left leaning 
political ideas, there are lots of child rearing ideas, health and eating 
ideas, neatness vs. messiness in carports ideas, gun safety ideas, and so 
on.  It seems, now that I know myself and others better, that perhaps it 
was a myth that we were like minded about much except being determined to 
be in a community.
