If I could sidetrack here - something that I have to laugh about, about myself, is how I thought that having political and other stuff in common would make it easier to live with people in community. So really it is the commitment to community itself that seems to be the glue that holds us together, because while we might mostly call ourselves lefties there is a whole wide range of opinion in there! Apart from a range of left leaning political ideas, there are lots of child rearing ideas, health and eating ideas, neatness vs. messiness in carports ideas, gun safety ideas, and so on. It seems, now that I know myself and others better, that perhaps it was a myth that we were like minded about much except being determined to be in a community. Great topic!
