No argument about using the gas-powered ones to blow leaves, those tools are obnoxious and I wish they (and other hi-pollution 2-stroke gas engine appliances) would be banned.

 

However, I once observed a janitor using an electric leaf blower to clean up a cafeteria--now, as a tool for the common house, that might be desirable!
