Renters vary from being the least active to being the most active. I just
found out that the least active renter in our community is being evicted by
the owner, because of her non-involvement and also the next least active are
moving out next month, the owner of the apartment has expressed frustration
in his tenants non-participation and is going to include participation
expectations in community as part of the next lease.

I don't think being a renter has anything to do with involvement at all, its
more of a personal choice, personality thing. Some of our most active
members are renters. We just did a round of discussion about involvement and
it has more to do with life circumstances than economics.

It is EASIER to make the decision to move here as a renter because the
investment level is much lower, so renting is a way to try this weird
lifestyle out.

You've previously said that some of your renters have little relationship
with the community.

Do you think ownership would change the relationship of any of the renters
or owners to the community?
