Lynn at RoseWind, again. My post sounded pretty negative, but remember
that I am just answering the questions about "in-between" times. We love
our common house and use it a bunch and find it a great resource. Eating
together at least twice a week, plus various brunches, barbeques etc.
Parties, meetings, speakers, concerts, discussion circles, sharing
circles, work parties, meetings of various groups, slide shows, Friday
afternoon TGIF gatherings with snacks (verging on supper), sometimes
drumming or music jamming. Special gatherings for Thanksgiving or New
Year's or Solstice or such. It's a fairly happening place. But we also
have busy lives that take us off site, or keep us busy in our homes.

Our homes are all sizes, and do include a number which are fairly large
and well equipped. But - without needing to share a washer or guest room
- we find abundant reasons to interact with each other, just because we
like each other and find lots of useful ways to be of mutual support.
When I see my neighbors outdoors, walking a dog or whatever, I go out and
walk along the path with them a ways, to enjoy catching up and sharing
conversation. Ditto for the community garden patches, or people out in
their yards. The weather here is mild enough that we "hang out" together
year round outdoors, as we go about our daily tasks.
