Everyone,One very big element to keep in mind in this discussion is that one does NOT hire developers.
You might partner with a developer, you might buy housing product created by a developer. Generally speaking, if they are really a developer, they will work for no one. Others work for them. It is a part of what makes them what they are.
Jim Leach is still the only exception is have seen to this rule. Jim has, in the past, worked as a consultant on occasion.
If you need a developer, you need to posture yourself as a potential buyer, or a potential business partner. The latter is much harder than the former since any developer will be extremely skeptical of your (group) ability to be businesslike.
