IMHO, marketing is like archery, you'll get what you aim for. Don't worry about the sensitivities of people who might think it's a hippy commune - if they're stuck with that old chestnut then they haven't been paying attention for the last 40 years. If you focus on "those people who are scared of cohousing/community", then that's who you'll attract and you'll waste a lot of energy. The collective experience seems to support being clear and upfront. There are people out there who are looking for a cohousing lifestyle, even if they don't know what it's called yet. Comfort and community in cohousing sounds wonderful, and yes, who wouldn't like to live in Wild Sage! More suggestions: Invite respondees to a community dinner. What has become normal for us is incredible for many who are looking for more connection. (At Pinakarri we have an Open House community dinner once a month, anyone is welcome, bring food to share.) Do a targeted mail-out to individuals, Eg, brain-storm who answers to: likely to be interested in a sustainable life-style and can afford it. Look for compatible businesses and send a flyer to the proprietor.
