My 2 cents on garages or no garages.

Every one that thinks garages are for cars raise their hands.

After visiting 13 different ccommunities I have seen a common thread: 1. 
not enough storage 2. a exercise room that gets more use as a guest room 
and 3. no place to do anything messy or large.

All of three of these things are what many garages get used for. 

And this doesnt even consider leaving a multi-thousand dollar investment 
to deteriorate in the weather.

In one community two of the founding members wanted garages and were 
willing to pay for them.  Seven years latter the rest of the community 
is suffering from garage envy, especially the guy trying to keep the 
bugs out of the paint as he refinished his canoe in the covered parking.

Where are the designers?
