I have visited several cohousing communities in the past few weeks and have
heard from several people the following sentiment - cohousing encourages
creativity.
Some of the example cited were generic - i.e., provides encouragement to follow a dream, community members taught me a new craft/musical instrument
Some of them were specific - "if I say it aloud, people appear to help me realize my goal, whether it be writing a play for a members 50th birthday or startng an exercise program". "a child expressed an interest in knitting and one of the adults is teaching her how".
I also saw a situation where a teen was raising money for a major class trip and a couple of adults helped her brainstorm an idea for a champagne brunch fundraiser and helped her execute it.
Is creativity being encouraged/fostered in your community? I would love to hear some of your stories.
