We just had acoustical panels installed -- fabric covered fiberglass panels-- to great effect. Makes an incredible difference.
But the point of this message is the space behind the panels. I asked about this installation and our acoustical person who does lots f music studios said that is better but only for certain kinds of sounds, like deep bass tones. He said it was a waste of time and money for normal situations like the dining room.
