All people who have facilities maintenance or management, workshare or architectural review responsibilities. Any person in the process of building a cohousing community who wants a ³heads up² on what it takes to maintain the bricks n¹ mortar of community. Come to learn?come to share?come for the door prizes! Full details at: http://www.cohomac.org This is a learn-from-each-other practical workshop. The purpose is to surface practices that work well in cohousing and those that work less well. In this way we can learn from each other the practices that reflect and support cohousing. The workshop will consist of a series of round-table discussions, panels, or individual presentations looking at how cohousing communities in our region are handling the management of the physical plant of their communities along with the sometimes knotty issues of workshare (how work gets done in your community) and Architectural Review (how changes to the built environment are decided.) In true cohousing style, we ask each community that attends the workshop to provide one or more people to speak to the various issues surrounding the topics. These participants, a.k.a. ³Contributors,² should be knowledgeable enough about practices in his/her home community to add to a discussion. We will ask each Contributor to fill out an ³Effective Practices² form in advance. MAC will compile the documents and use them to establish a database for use by member communities. If the community has supporting forms or documents we ask that the Contributor share those as well. Just like pooling our resources enabled us to build our respective communities, pooling our experiences can help us live in them! BONUS FUN STUFF!!!! Anyone filling out an Effective Practices form and sending it in by Tuesday, November 2nd will receive a $5.00 gift certificate to Home Depot or Lowe¹s!!!
