This is in part a response to Tom's question about getting
an higher position in search hits but is more general.

I encourage you to include the "http://"; part of Web addresses ( URL's )
that you include in email - particularly to cohousing-L. Without the
http, some email programs and most listserv archives do not make them
into clickable links. While the reader can still cut and paste to view
the web page, the extra effort makes the URL much less likely to be
followed. Note that using http in your "signature" (that block of text
you can have automatically added to the end of your email)
is particularly important since it is sent so often.

See examples of archived messages with non clickable URLs
in 3 major listserv archive systems (near end of each message):

Fred

And while I'm at it, I encourage people to identify themselves adequately
in their email - you're message is more likely to be read if people know
who its from.
