North  Detroit  Area   Community   Conference

Memorial Day Monday, May 30th
Held at The  Center of Light in the Oxford area
With Harvey Baker of the Fellowship for Intentional Community
The primary focus of this conference will be to gain a better
understanding of the concept of ?intentional community?, its advantages,
and how we can bring about a more integrated functional society.  The
secondary focus will be the basics of sustainable energy systems and
natural building methods, and how these can lend to addressing a more
balanced approach to social, environmental, and economic concerns.

We will begin with a Native American style Inipi ceremony Sunday the 29th
for those interested, camping space will be provided.   Opening
introductions will begin at 8AM Monday, followed by discussion of various
intentional community and other projects.  We will eat lunch together --
community style (& please do feel free to bring a vegetarian dish to
share).  The afternoon will be focused discussion on at least the basic
components of the process of developing intentional community, renewable
energy and natural building systems, along with reference to additional
materials and resources available.  In the evening we will settle into
discussion together to determine who?s who and interested in what,
matching interests with the resources while sharing insights we?ve gained
while on the day?s adventure.

We will debrief by the Fire, perhaps have another Inipi ceremony, possibly
music as well.  Camping will be welcomed Monday night also.
