Hello, Joani Blank, FYI: Our Declaration (Westwood Cohousing, not a condo, but a planned development) provides that any proposed sale of a unit must be referred to the sales committee. That committee then has 30 days to decide to approve the sale or to find a different buyer (who would have to be willing and able to pay exactly the same price under exactly the same terms). In effect, if the HOA is not comfortable with a particular potential buyer, it can substitute someone else. Our lawyer claims that this provision is not illegal. Then it is illegal in every state, I believe (not just California, for an person who is selling their condo who they can or cannot sell to. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% David Clements, Evan Richardson, Wesley Clements, Lila Richardson 43 Vermont Court, #G24 Asheville, NC 28806 828-285-0601
