I was curious about Springhill Cohousing, so I'll share its website link:

The Songaia "norm" is for the cook team to play the radio (basically, NPR)
or music if they so choose (they do for about 1/3 of our meals). Then the
sound system gets turned off when people start showing up. There has never,
to my memory, been any formal process around this pattern. And we have, a
few times, had recorded and live dinner music that somebody consciously made
happen.

I suspect the fact that we sing acapella as a group before about some meals,
having unrelated recorded sound during that would be pretty strange.
